Canvas Soft Top Cleaner - Application instructions

Normal Cleaning

1. Dry brush the soft-top to remove any residual dirt.

2. Dampen surface of Soft Top with a mist spray of water or a damp sponge.

3. Shake bottle well prior to removing top.

4. Pour into suitable container.

5. Apply with a clean 2" paint brush using even brush strokes. Start at the centre of the cover working out towards the edge.

6. Leave for 30 - 60 minutes to ensure the cleaner can work on difficult grime and stains.

7. Commence scrubbing using warm water and a sponge, cloth or bristle brush until the cleaner begins to lather and dirt is being removed easily. Finish by rinsing off with water. Repeat the whole process if necessary.

For heavily-soiled surfaces leave the solution to dry for approximately 60 minutes- the optimum time for active ingredients to work. Heavily soiled surfaces should be scrubbed with a bristle brush. Finish by rinsing off with water. Repeat the whole process if necessary.

Finally leave to dry before applying Renovo’s Ultra Proofer which will not only re-establish the original 'as new' waterproof weather barrier on your canvas, double-duck or mohair soft-top, also now contains UV protection and a mould/mildew growth inhibitor.

Bird Droppings / Difficult Stains.  Dab or pour the Cleaner directly onto the spot of dirt or stain (massage into the affected area). Clean off after 30 mins. Repeat process if necessary.  Please note that some bird/bat droppings can cause permanent staining very quickly and must be removed as soon as possible.

Light Soiling / Quick Cleaning.  For less soiled tops cleaning can commence immediately. Pour directly onto on to a cloth or sponge and massage into the affected area. Rinse off with water.

Canvas Soft Top Reviver - Application instructions

1. Ensure that the soft-top is dry and free from grease, dirt and previous waterproof coatings by thoroughly cleaning with Renovo Soft-Top Canvas Cleaner before commencing application.

2. Unscrew the bottle top and pour Reviver into a suitable container/bowl.

3. Stir well prior to application - don't shake the bottle

4. Apply Reviver with a new 5cm/2inch paintbrush using even strokes across the soft-top. It is best to commence application in the centre of the soft-top and as quickly as possible progress towards each side, the front and the back of the soft-top. Wipe excess drips from paintwork, trims and glass with a damp cloth. Do not apply in direct sunlight, as this will cause the Reviver to dry out too quickly and produce an uneven result! Depending on the condition of the top a litre of Reviver is usually sufficient for two coats on an average size soft-top. It is important to allow Reviver to dry between coats. Always ensure that you have enough Reviver to coat the soft-top completely and that you will not run out half way through application!  Renovo recommends applying at least two coats to achieve greater depth of colour on badly faded tops.  Reviver can also be applied in the same way as above to the fabric on the interior of the top.

5. Allow the top to dry for approximately three hours, this will depend on the drying conditions. The Reviver may dry out more quickly if it is a warm day and may take longer to dry if it is a damp day! Do not take the car out in rain/wet weather until the Reviver has completely dried. We advise that to prolong the life of the re-colour provided by Reviver, you should allow 24 hours drying time and then protect it by applying Renovo Ultra Proofer!

6. Wash out brush in warm soapy water

Plastic Window Polish / Cleaner - Application instructions

1. Prior to application of Renovo Plastic Window Polish ensure that the window is clean and free from dust particles by washing with a soft cloth and warm water. It is not advisable to use cleaning detergents, including household window spray cleaners, on plastic windows.

2. Shake the bottle thoroughly.

3. Use a soft cotton duster/cloth and apply the polish with a little pressure using circular movements to rub well in, apply more pressure on areas which are more scratched.  It is best to add small quantities of polish frequently rather than a large amount all at once until the whole window has been covered.

4. Allow the polish to dry and then use a clean soft cotton duster/cloth to remove/polish off the coating of polish. The interior and exterior of the window should be polished in the above manner to achieve best possible results. Staining of plastic headlight lenses sometimes occurs on the inside of the sealed unit which means they cannot be cleaned properly.

Renovo Plastic Window Polish will not remove clarity defects that are within the plastic but it will remove external/surface scratching and yellowing.

Do

  • Use on perspex as well as flexible plastic.
  • Apply with a clean soft polishing cloth.
  • Use small quantities of Plastic Window Polish working with circular motions in small areas a little at a time.
  • Allow Plastic Window Polish to dry then with a clean soft cloth polish off using circular movements.
  • Apply to both interior and exterior of window.

Don’t

  • Use on glass.
  • Forget to shake the bottle thoroughly prior to use.
  • Allow the Plastic Window Polish to come into contact with materials or the fabric that surrounds the window.
